Vicki Gilliam didn't set out to build a large firm. She set out to build a good one.
After more than a decade of practicing law in Mississippi, she had seen what happened to clients who were shuffled through firms that prioritized volume over attention — cases handled by whoever was available, clients who didn't know the status of their own matter, and settlements pushed through quickly because trial was inconvenient. She built Gilliam Law Firm to be something different.
The firm she founded is woman-owned, Mississippi-rooted, and built around a standard she has held for her entire career: that every client deserves an attorney who knows their case, tells them the truth, and fights for them as if everything is on the line — because, it is.
That standard didn't begin with Gilliam Law Firm. Vicki is a fourth-generation attorney — part of a legal lineage that traces back to her great-grandfather, Joseph K. Mahony, one of the leading attorneys of El Dorado, Arkansas for several decades. The belief that a lawyer's purpose is to fight for people — honestly, personally, and without cutting corners — was not something she learned in a firm. It was in her DNA.
Vicki was raised on a small farm in northeast Louisiana, the daughter and granddaughter of loving, Christian parents and grandparents who taught that service to your community and hard work were not optional — they were expected. That upbringing is where her integrity and her ethics were formed. The law may have been in her blood, but her character was built on that farm.
Today, Gilliam Law Firm's legal team carries that same standard into every personal injury case, every criminal defense matter, every wrongful death claim, and every civil rights case we accept. The firm has grown. The standard has not.

The Case That Took On Ford Motor Company. A National Audience Watched.
Vicki Gilliam served as lead attorney in Mann v. Ford — an HBO Documentary Films production that followed a five-year class action lawsuit on behalf of the Ramapough Mountain Indians against Ford Motor Company for decades of toxic waste dumping in their community. The film aired nationally, introduced Vicki to a national audience, and drew comparisons to Erin Brockovich.
